I need a dependable domestic house cleaning service to come weekly to clean my home. The maid cleaning service should be thorough and reliable with experience and good track record. Any recommendations, reviews, pre-screened services would be welcome!

My experience with Local House Cleaning Services
Are you sure you need every week? I have the maid come every two weeks and that works out pretty well for us. They come with three people and clean our four bedroom, four bathroom house in about an hour and a half and charge $120 per visit.
For me, the maid service does a very thorough job, cleaning the hardwood floors with the right product - Bona. They were adamant that I never use Murphy's Oil Soap on the floors, saying that it would just coat the floors in a layer of vegetable oil...yuck! They have recommended a bunch of products which I just keep in a box in a closet.
I love having a cleaning service, mostly because it forces my family to straighten up a bit the night before they come. The next day, after they leave, the house is both clean and tidy. Love it!

Trust, but verify (and secure)
Over my years, I've had three different maid services for my various homes and condos. Two were great (and one is still with me) and one was not so great. I had an incident where some money went missing from a bedroom dresser, and although I didn't have physical proof, I really believe that my cleaning lady took it :(
Mostly for peace of mind, I ended up getting a small safe to secure the money and valuable jewlery I have around the house. I probably should have had that anyways.
Oh well, my lesson to you: do your homework up-front. Talk to a few cleaning services before picking one and ask to speak with references to make sure they are on the up-and-up. I'm sure 99.999% of housekeepers are professional and trustworthy, just make sure you don't end up with that one in the 0.001%!
