"I want new oak hardwood floors installed in my kitchen"
I'm looking for someone to install hardwood floors in my renovated kitchen. Must replace the linoleum. Must replace it now!

Oak Hardwood Flooring Installer
It took me a few years to come to love oak as a wood. Years ago, I was always a cherry or maple fan, I just didn't like the highly contrasting and figured grain in oak. Gradually, my tastes have changed and I've come to really love the character of oak.
It now seems to have much more personality than maple or cherry which, in hindsight, I think I liked because of their less "woodishness". Not a word, I know, but maybe someone out there understands :) After living with my own installation of hardwood floors for 3 years I can now say I'm a die hard oak fan.
We chose what i'd characterize as a medium color: not too dark, not too light. The beauty of the wood really stands out.
Antique Oak Wood FlooringAs far as durability, because of its hardness, the floor has withstood the dings and dents that my old wide pine floor used to have. They added some character, for sure, but its nice to know that my oak floor is more durable. I've found it easy to keep clean and looks beautiful.
Also, my real estate agent friend says the oak wood flooring (and hardwood flooring in general) adds value to any property, which is nice, although we don't have any plans to sell right now! As we were designing it, we also found that it was very flexible as far as looks in that we had the option of getting various different grades, finishes and colors.
On a side note, we opted for environmentally friendly oak flooring. Ours was PEFC certified (Programme for the Endorsement of Forecst Certification) which came from a sustainable wood forest. The PEFC program seeks to curtail the depletion of natural resources, reduce energy waste and overall use and conserve ecosystems and landscapes, which was important for us.
